The People Behind the Frontier Lab

For ten years, the I.E.C.T - Summer School was a highly successful platform for deep tech talent and entrepreneurial exchange, something I was proud to support from the beginning. I’m delighted to see this spirit continued and expanded with the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab.
As someone who has founded and invested in over 120 Deep Tech companies over the last 40 years - from Acorn and the creation of the ARM processor to early-stage ventures through Amadeus Capital - I know how crucial early guidance and access to the right networks are. That’s why I’m excited to support this next generation of innovation and look forward to being part of the programme on-site.
Having worked for over 16 years at the intersection of high-tech investments, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship, I see the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab as a crucial initiative to turn cutting-edge research into real-world solutions. Supporting this mission is both a professional and personal priority.

Since I’ve been part of the Austrian start-up ecosystem since 2012, I’ve had the chance to experience six editions of Hermann’s programme in Tyrol since 2019. We support the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab through Onsight Ventures because we recognize the value of this platform for tech founders. It’s a true gathering point for the international tech community in Tyrol bringing together people who all think exponentially.
As Standortagentur Tirol, we are co-initiators of the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab and actively help shape it together with Onsight Ventures. This one-week intensive program for deep-tech startups brings together international innovation and strong regional roots – a combination that fits perfectly with Tirol.
The fusion of scientific depth and entrepreneurial pioneering spirit is at the heart of the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab – an approach we at Standortagentur Tirol wholeheartedly support, as it creates a space where groundbreaking ideas can grow and find their path to market readiness. These are exactly the kinds of impulses needed to further strengthen Tirol as a future-proof technology hub

Frontier Lineup

With years of experience building biotech platforms from the ground up, I mentor founders at the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab to help them move science to scale, navigating the leap from complex biological discovery to scalable innovation and accelerating ideas that have the potential.

Turning quantum research into practical applications takes more than just scientific expertise, it also requires knowing how to communicate your ideas effectively, navigate uncertainty, and collaborate across disciplines. I’m here to support founders in developing the right mindset, communication skills, and confidence needed to translate science into impactful solutions.

As someone working at the edge of scientific exploration and real-world industrial business development, I see the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab as a catalyst for turning frontier technologies into breakthroughs. It’s a place where research and entrepreneurial spirit come together to shape the future.

The Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab is a truly inspiring environment where ambitious innovators challenge themselves, learn from leading entrepreneurial mentors, and build ventures with global impact. Being part of this vibrant community perfectly reflects my passion for fostering entrepreneurial growth and international collaboration.

Innovators must understand that success relies not just on the strength of the idea, but on operational clarity, strategic focus, and a solid financial foundation. That’s why I’m at the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab: to help Deep Tech founders build commercial muscle.

Surrounding early-stage founders with the right people including role models, peers, and supporters is one of the most powerful ways to unlock innovation. Breakthrough innovations need more than funding, they need empowered scientist-entrepreneurs. That’s why I joined the Hermann Hauser Frontier Lab: to help innovators serve both people and the planet by turning research into successful businesses.
